How the partnership works

Each side does the part it's built for, so homes go from an empty lot to people living in them faster.

Mr. Good Container Homes

  • Offers three floor plans, with in-house financing or outside lenders

Dan Ventures

Finds the land and the partners

  • Leads site selection and development
  • Works with towns, landowners and employers where local workers can't find a place they can afford
  • Brings the model into Common Frame, our attainable and workforce housing initiative

The home

Mr. Good's standard model is a 320 square foot duplex: two 160 square foot studio apartments in one unit.

Each studio

Private and complete

A private bathroom, a kitchenette with a stovetop, and a window unit for air conditioning, heat and dehumidifying.

Hookup

Ready in about 15 minutes

The homes are classified as RVs and connect through 50 amp power, a standard water hose and an RV sewer connection.

Running costs

About $50 a month

Mr. Good reports average water and electricity bills of about $50 a month.

Price

From $45,000 per unit

Plus tax and delivery, with three floor plans to choose from. In Texas, the homes are approved for Section 8 housing vouchers.

Inside the build

Each home starts as a steel shipping container. In the factory it gets framed, insulated, wired, sided and finished, then ships ready to hook up.

Where it fits

The homes are designed for RV parks, rural land, workforce housing and emergency response.

RV and mobile home parks

Long-term homes on existing lots

According to Mr. Good, a park lot that rents short term for about $350 a month can instead hold a duplex that rents for $1,600 to $1,900 a month on 6 to 12 month leases.

Towns and employers

Housing for the people who keep a place running

Factory building shortens time on site, cuts waste and helps bring down the cost to build, so homes can arrive where local workers need them.
