Privacy Policy.

This policy explains what information dan-ventures.com (the “Site”), run by Dan Ventures USA LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“Dan Ventures,” “we,” “us”), collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We keep this simple: we collect as little as we can.

What we collect

• Contact and partner forms. When you send a message or partner inquiry, we store what you enter: your name, email address, and any phone number, organization, project, state, message and answers about a property, community, team or investment interest, along with the approximate country, IP address and browser type your request came from. The IP address is used to prevent spam and abuse.
• Newsletter sign-up. If you subscribe, your email address is sent to our newsletter provider, Buttondown, which sends you a confirmation email and manages your subscription.
• Site analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites.
• Emails and social messages. If you email us or message us on social media, we receive whatever you choose to send.
• Liftie, our site assistant. When you ask Liftie a question, we store the question, the answer, the page you asked from, the time and your IP address. Answers are generated by an AI model running on Cloudflare Workers AI. Your conversation is also kept in your browser’s session storage until you close the tab. Please don’t share sensitive personal, health or financial information with Liftie.
• Spam protection. Our forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person rather than a bot is submitting. It looks at technical signals from your browser and does not use tracking cookies.
• Switchback applications. If you apply for a first look, we store what you enter, including details about your company or project, its stage and the amount you hope to raise.

If you use the Idea Lab, we also collect what you submit about your idea, your answers to the scoring questions and the score we calculate. If you request investment details, we collect your name, email, the opportunity you asked about, whether you would invest as an individual, jointly or through an entity, how you prefer to verify your accredited investor status, and your statement that you are an accredited investor. Federal securities rules require us to take reasonable steps to verify that status before anyone invests; verification is completed through a secure channel outside this Site, such as a letter from your CPA, attorney, investment adviser or broker-dealer or a verification service you choose. Please do not send tax returns, statements or other financial documents through the Site. We keep a record of verification results as required by law.

How we use it

We use this information only to read and reply to your message, send newsletters you asked for, keep the Site secure and working, and understand in general terms how the Site is used. When a form is submitted, a notification containing what you entered is emailed to us so we can reply quickly. Liftie questions help us see what the Site should explain better. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

Who we share it with

Only with the service providers that run the Site for us: Cloudflare (hosting, security, data storage, the AI model behind Liftie, email notifications and analytics) and Buttondown (newsletter). They handle data on our behalf under their own privacy terms. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Cookies

The Site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary security measures to protect the Site from abuse.

How long we keep it

We keep messages, Idea Lab submissions, Switchback applications and investor requests for as long as we need them to respond and to keep a reasonable record of our conversations. We remove IP addresses and browser details from these records after 90 days, and we delete Liftie questions and answers after 12 months. Newsletter subscriptions last until you unsubscribe, which you can do from the link in any email.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing dan@dan-ventures.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor requests as that law requires.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request not to sell or share your information.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
